Looking back and moving forward: games and projects of 2026
An addendum to the 2025 year in review post, overviewing my currently running games and ongoing projects.
Into the Dungeon: Revived
As was mentioned briefly in the previous post, a playtest of the starting module is planned for this year. This will also be instrumental in balancing a couple of new Features from the player's guide to the setting, which were modified during previous tests. Otherwise, the guide is almost complete content-wise, ready to be illustrated.
Mystara
The Mystara campaign will pass its 3-year mark this summer. Most of the parties have already moved into two-digit levels and Companion-tier modules, and lands explored span from the Empire of the Great Hule to the west, the Isle of Dawn to the east, the Thanegioth Archipelago to the South, and recently settled Norwold to the north. Below is a rough chart of the campaign chronology at the moment of publishing this article.
Dark Sun
The Dark Sun campaign that was started about a year ago continues on course to cover most of the official pre-revised-edition modules this year. Module reviews for it are planned after the conclusion of the Planescape reviews series.
Planescape reviews
Passing its midpoint with the Infinite Staircase anthology, the series moves to the Great Modron March's sequel — The Dead Gods — about 20 reviews to go.
Original D&D
A long-standing tradition in our gaming group is running a January 1st one-shot adventure. This time, we were trying out the Wilderlands setting with the Original D&D and Chainmail, continuing the exploration of the intricacies of this system, which had already started in our Age of Conan mini-sandbox. I hope to return to it in a more substantial manner after the conclusion of the Dark Sun campaign.
